The Outer Drive Hero Drivers Club is a rally organization in Chicago begun in the early 1960's or late 1950's, by a group of individuals who were involved in SCCA racing in the Mid-West.
Originators included Bob Lester, owner of Team Wink racing team and owner of the Foreign Car Hospital; Terry Jesk, Jon Hill, Ron Letellier, Mike and Jean McGee and others, some of whom are still involved in ODHDC.
Robert et al would spend hours devising the most devilish, difficult, arcane and mind-bending clues - all of which were based on Chicago landmarks. Participants would meet at the start of the rally where maps and instructions would be passed out. The rally would take you to very strangest corners of the city.
Assuming you made it to the end, a party awaited you.
If anyone has more copies of rally instructions, or other ephemera, I would love to have copies. Please contact me at jkbeardsley@gmail.com
